Two zero one three

In an blink of an eye, another year have gone by. Being a mother was the best thing that have happened to me in this 2013.
I would like to share my journey and my experience in being a young mother. Pictures below shows all the  memorable events I have experienced with my family upon the arrival of Kayleigh.

My birth story
\
On the 10 May 2013, I was scheduled for an induced labour and to be admitted to KKH at 2am. everything went well during the induction at first. However, cervix was dilating at a very slow speed. With very minimal sleep, i was very exhausted. By noon, my body was finally entering active labour stage.
Laughing gas was one of the pain relief that was given to me to ease my contractions. I had become a joke in the delivery room because I lost control of myself. I took a lot of laughing gas to ease my pain and I was laughing really hard.

Despite the pain and long hours I've been enduring, my cervix still refuse to dilate (naughty Kayleigh not co-operating). Soon after, I've raised the white flag to get an epidural. It was 3pm exactly and the only thought on my mind was to just to get some rest first. Till 8pm, my body broke down with fever and my labour was still not progressing. After much pain, sweat and all the pain relief in my body I couldn't even feel my legs and I was almost pushed in for a emergency c-section. A really patient and helpful midwife, saved me. She helped me throughout and even taught me how to push, the next thing I knew was my baby's head was already popping out! My doctor was called up immediately to deliver my baby for me and at approx 3.30am, my baby is finally out! Welcome to the world, Kayleigh Cha.

Yes, my labour was a rather tedious journey (26 hours) and it might actually scare people who haven't given birth. But I guess differnt body works differently. Family and friends were super anxious and worried while I was in labour. Thank God for my hubby who followed me through every minute and even endured all my scoldings and screams (which i actually don't even remember). Oops.

First Holiday Trip to Genting!
It was just a short trip in Sept. We drove from Singapore to Genting Highlands and gladly, the whole trip was smooth sailing. Kayleigh sure did enjoy the cool weather in Genting. As you can see, she was dressed up like a polar bear to keep her warm!

Merry Christmas!!
It was Kayleigh's first time to the beach with papa and mama!
Life hasn't been a bed of roses. With you around us, the love papa and mummy have for each other has grown to the next level. We have learn to love and sacrifice with no boundaries. I would say being a young mother would be a bonus as I have lots of energy. It wasn't easy to adapt to such a huge change because I am no longer able to sleep till the late afternoons. In fact, mornings have become friendlier to me and my nights have never been so busy (with all the night feedings). I never thought I'd be able to love someone more than I love myself. Seeing my daughter growing up, achieving each milestone in her life is just too satisfying that I wouldn't mind being a full time stay home mummy. Sadly, life does not allow me to do so. Juggling my studies haven't been easy but I know everything is all just gonna be worth it.
Yes, at times I do break down due to the overload of stress. After all, I'm only human and the only thing that kept me going on and becoming stronger each time is you, Kayleigh. Mummy wants you to know that I love you very much and I can't wait to go through more in life with you.

Till then,
