One Year- WOW

Well, well, well. Once just a crazy experiment to create a blog to explore some ideas has done rather well. I am at one year of having this blog, and it has been a wild success in my mind.

Here are some of the stats...

Just over 12, 000 visits, and near 20,000 page views. This has included visits from 38 countries.

While the traffic would be abysmal for a commercial offering, for a guy wanting to think out loud, quite amazing! We have done many things in the blog this year.

We have explored the LRC, and have documented many ideas of how it can/does work. Provided several blogs with graphical evidence, created great debates, and more than anything, communicated in a way that was largely constructive and collaborative. I am very happy with the result of this blog.

I have integrated live chat for severe storm events, provided forecasts, explored other weather related ideas and experiences and much more. I have enjoyed the ride, and hope you have as well.

As usual, I am working on more analysis of the LRC and have found some very exciting things out this year. I believe the cycle to start earlier, end later, and virtually cover the entire date range of a calander year. This is consistent with my thinking. More needs to be done for greater acceptance, and this is a long term progression.

I want ideas. My background is not extensive in statistics or math, but I learn quickly. I want ideas how to better show things. I have researched over 3000+ hours staring at surface data, upper air data, models, and reading about other weather related entities that may relate.

While not having a degree in Meteorology, I certainly think I have gotten in the book time that would correlate likely atleast the first three years if not more. I have matured from primitive means of communicating evidence to just short of growing the scientific equivalent of the opposible thumb. LOL

I have met many interesting people, and have built relationships with very smart and insightful folks that are willing to work together in moving the LRC and other ideas further. For that, I am very thankful.

To that end, the blog is going to be winding down. Not to say I have lost interest or otherwise moved on to other things, but to say that I am spending more time researching and gathering evidence than writing. I will still write, but not as often. For those of you that follow on a daily basis [you know who you are], you have already seen a decline in the content frequency.

For those of you that have not been along for the entire ride, I would urge you to look through the archieves. There is a wealth of information/ideas/thoughts that have been the core of this adventure.

I am gearing up for bigger and better things. Ways to show the things I want to show beyond the confines of this blog site. I want to go bigger, go better, more interesting and interactive. For those interested in supporting this direction, feel free to drop me an email...
