Ok...here are a couple of updates below taking in some feedback.
First, I picked the HPC this time with their 500mb charts. I like them better. More detail.
Second, I went with two weeks this time. I picked Jan 1st to show a very amplified seasonal pattern. Different than the last example in the previous blog. I extended the time to ensure it was seen than just one week wasn't a fluke.
Third, be aware in the animation, I chose 7ooms transitions. In going frame to frame, be aware that you will get two images in 1.4 seconds. Not just one. Slide carefully as not to miss a frame and get off sync.
Please, watch the whole animation and please..knock yourself out going frame to frame.
And last but not least...where anomalies may be observed..that is known. I would offer another experiment to compare. Pick a time duration other than 56 days. See how close that looks compared to 56 days.
Not even close. While the pattern is not perfect, due to jet movement it won't be. But is a heck of a lot closer than another cycle duration. Even if 80% the same, that is a HUGE finding.
Without further ado...I offer January 1-14th and Feb 25-March 10th. Grab your popcorn!
